Outreach & Synagogue Community activities center on the Jewish mitzvah of ahavat ger (loving the stranger)--anyone who feels distanced from God, Torah, and Israel. COSC aims to welcome and integrate a diversity of Jews and their families, interfaith and interracial couples, gay and lesbian individuals and families, single adults and blended families, sick and poor, young and old, and in-between.

The committee strives to honor differences while still creating a cohesive sacred community, and to sensitize the entire congregation to the needs of all. The committee aims to foster programming that includes, but is not limited to, teaching services, support groups, panel discussions, educational workshops, lectures, and social events.
