The FJC has exciting news – the publication of its first-ever cookbook, entitled FJC Cooks.
This project arose as part of the congregation’s year-long exploration of food and Judaism. The idea of a cookbook had been present for over a decade, and our exploration of food provided the perfect opportunity to bring it to fruition. A hard-working and large committee of talented members has ushered the cookbook through from initial planning to publication this June 9. In conjunction with soliciting recipes and designing the cookbook, the committee held special events during the year, including numerous “Test Kitchens” and meals featuring recipes from the cookbook. Talented artists and more than 100 members and affiliates contributed photographs, drawings, almost 300 recipes and stories to this beautiful book. FJC Cooks is truly a culinary snapshot of the FJC community. In its creation, we gathered recipes and built community, celebrating our rich diversity. We hope you will enjoy it and the foods you prepare from it!
