FINDING MIRIAM, a funny, inspiring and poignant one-woman show starring Joyce Friedman, is coming to the Falmouth Jewish Congregation on Sunday, March 17 at 2:00 P.M. Weaving storytelling, song, and puppetry, Joyce brings to life her journey of discovering her relationship with her great-grandmother Miriam and the Biblical Prophetess Miriam. The music for this one-act show draws on songs from the American songbook, Broadway and folk traditions. In her quest to make peace between her great-grandmother and a biblical prophet, Joyce captures the story of an entire generation of American Jewish women and leaves the audience - both women and men, young and old(er) - more connected with their own journeys through time.
Followed by a dessert reception and Q & A with the artist.
This performance is scheduled to fall just before Passover (since Miriam plays an important role in the Exodus story), but it provides lively entertainment throughout the year. Come enjoy the afternoon. Bring friends. This production is open to the public. There is no charge for members. Non-member tickets, available at the door, are $10.
