SOCIAL JUSTICE (Tikkun Olam)
The Committee addresses issues at the local, national, and global levels. Its work includes:
• Organizing speakers and informational programs
• Partnering with area faith communities to achieve greater impact
• Educating and advocating within the congregation about pressing issues and concerns
• Tzedakah: raising funds for worthy causes
This year, the Committee identified three key areas for congregational learning and action:
– Climate (Green Team)
– Hunger
– Immigration
Each subcommittee plans events and shares information with the community throughout the year. FJC congregants are invited to join a subcommittee that matches their interests.
