Our first-ever Soup-er Bowl Sunday fundraiser for the Falmouth Service Center was a marvelous success, raising over $1,000 and bringing together people from throughout our community in supporting this effort. We teamed up with the Waquoit Congregational Church and served a hearty variety of soups--from classic chicken-noodle to Indian-spiced masala-chickpea--along with freshly baked breads.
Participants were encouraged to take home the bowl from which they ate their soup as a reminder of the ongoing challenges of hunger in our community and our world. A number of artisan bowls, crafted by local potters and woodturners, were sold to raise additional funds for the Service Center.
Next year's Soup-er Bowl Sunday is set for January 26, 2014!
