Free Concert of Songs by Bernstein and the Gershwins, Performed by Stephanie Miele and Lucy Banner

On this 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth, Falmouth Jewish Congregation invites the public to a special afternoon of free entertainment on Monday, March 11 at 2:00 P.M. Join vocalist Stephanie Miele and pianist Lucy Banner for songs by Bernstein and the Gershwins. Come hear beloved and familiar songs such as “I Got Rhythm," “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and "They Can’t Take That Away from Me” by Gershwin and selections from Wonderful Town, and West Side Story by Bernstein, in addition to lesser-known songs written by each of them. Stephanie Miele (vocalist) lives in Falmouth and currently works as a piano technician tuning pianos. A graduate of the High School of Performing Arts in New York City, Boston University and Bridgewater State University, Stephanie has sung with the Handel and Hayden Society and the Wintersauce Chorale in Boston, and has been active in community theater performing in a wide range of musical roles and is an avid fan of Broadway musicals. Locally, she has been a guest soloist with the Falmouth Chorale, and has appeared at the Cahoon Museum, Highfield Hall and Gardens, the Cape Cod Cultural Center, the Falmouth Historical Society. Most recently, she performed a sold-out and extended program of the music of Rodgers, Hart, and Hammerstein in the Black Box at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Lucy Banner is well known to Cape Cod audiences as a collaborative pianist for instrumentalists and singers throughout SE Massachusetts.  She holds degrees in piano/performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Ithaca College.  During the past years, she has been a pianist for First Parish Brewster Unitarian Universalist Church and continues to be a collaborative pianist for Cape Cod's newly established Open-Mic Classical.  She is a founding member of Trio Vivo, Classical Music from an Uncommon Ensemble.
